Maflon R&D department is constantly busy with the development of new fluorine based materials and formulations to find innovative and advantageous solutions for different applications. That target can be reached thanks to the availability of a devoted engineers and chemists team, following projects from the research step up to the industrialization phases.

| CHEMISTRY |
|
| Maflon scientific research is based on the chemical study of fluorotelomers, perfluoroalkyliodides, obtained by a controlled polymerization of the tetrafluoroethylene. Researches in Maflon's laboratory start from these particular molecules for the preparation of fluorinated substances and mixtures of the type F(CF2)n(CH2)mX, where X can be differents functional groups such as alcohols, glycols, olefins, (meth)acrylics, epoxydes, silanes. These new chemical intermediates are the raw materials for the production of more complex fluorinated products used in several applications: |

Polymers of different structure such as poly(meth)acrylates, polyurethanes, polysiloxane for surface treatment in order to improve oleo-hydro repellency and easy to clean properties |

Fluorosurfactants used as wetting, levelling, agents for floor polish, wax formulation, paint and coating |

Perfluoroalkanes used as solid lubricants |

Diblocks or semiperfluoroalkanes used as solid lubricants or as fluorinated solvents with a high solubility for oxygen and carbon dioxide. |
